Biography

Jonah Garson is a practicing attorney, fundraiser, and grassroots organizer whose work for over a decade has focused on the NC legislative fight, voting rights, and democracy reform.

 

Jonah currently serves as Chair of the Orange County Democratic Party, Executive Committee Member of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP, an appointee by Gov. Cooper to the Education and Workforce Innovation Commission, and as a member of the UNC Board of Visitors.

 

As Chair of the Orange County Democratic Party, Jonah has supported the County-to-County Campaign, a partnership program which connects volunteers and resources from Orange County with competitive legislative campaigns across the state, and which executed a $225,000 paid Get-Out-the-Vote canvassing program this past election cycle.

 

Previously, Jonah served as field coordinator for dozens of legislative challengers and Voter Protection Director for the NC-09 special election. A Chapel Hill native, Jonah graduated from UNC (’09) and Columbia Law (’14).
